TOP MUSICAL DIRECTOR COMES BACK TO BARNSLEY

Helen Ingham has chosen the Dearne Playhouse Theatre to launch a new community based theatre company. But don’t be deceived into thinking of this as amateur, once established it is intended to produce nothing short of high quality musical theatre for the Dearne Playhouse and beyond. To this end, talks are already underway with promoters who are more than keen to turn these small acorns into professional towering oak trees providing the opportunity for careers in musical theatre, drama and dance.

Helen has established herself as a leading musical director with shows like Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar and many more to her credit. More recently, she oversaw the music in a production at The Criterian Theatre London.

Even though the aim is to achieve the highest quality, no one should be put off from joining as Helen firmly believes that everyone with a desire to be a part of such a company will be able to make a significant contribution. As Helen herself says, “Shows do not entirely rely on the leading players. Often, much of the success of a production is achieved by the people who often go un-noticed”

Anyone interested in this exciting new community venture can attend the first rehearsals at The Dearne Playhouse Theatre, Goldthorpe Tuesday 3rd November.

Junior Company to age 14 at 6.30pm till 7.45pm, main company 8.00pm till 9.45pm. prices are £2.50 and £3.50 respectively to include refreshments..
