Disabled Facilities at the Dearne Playhouse
The Dearne Playhouse has excellent access for wheelchairs. We have an auditorium level entrance round the back of the theatre, accessed from the gate on Washington Rd. Please inform a member of staff on arrival, if you wish to use this entrance.
The seating area for wheelchairs is the back row of the auditorium on the ground floor. This is to comply with fire regulations. There is also a fire exit with a push button activation for wheelchairs leading to the disabled refuge area.
Also, once inside the theatre, you will find that everything is on the same level on the ground floor including fire escapes to either side of the auditorium seating. Please note that currently there is no dedicated disabled access to seating in the balcony.
The Dearne Playhouse has 5 disabled WC’s.
The bar also has a low section in the bar top so wheelchair users can be served more comfortably.
